The children and young people at Bournville Parish Church, St. Francis of Assisi are an integral part of our community. Through our junior church group, Ignite, and our Rise & Shine https://bournville.designpreview.app/rise-shine/ breakfast worship, we aim to help our children and young people grow in their knowledge and understanding of who Jesus is, and then support them in making a commitment to him for themselves.
We have key links with our Church School, St. Francis CofE Primary School, https://www.stfrancisprimaryandnursery.co.uk/ where we hold Collective Worship with the children once a week, as well as links with Bournville Village Primary School . https://www.bournvillevillageprimary.org.uk/
Our Youth Club runs on a Friday evening in St. Francis Youth and Community Centre https://stfranciscentre.co.uk/ from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. for children aged 10-13 years old. These popular sessions are filled with different activities, from games and crafts, to cooking and baking! And, of course, there is our much-loved tuck shop! We also organise trips and events outside of the centre, as well as residential adventures! This fun and friendly youth club is open to all, and there is no specific Christian Content or teaching during the sessions.

Ignite
Our Junior Church, Ignite, runs sessions during the 10 am Parish Communion service. Ignite use a variety of resources to plan their sessions, aiming to make them interactive, with an emphasis on a continuation of worship.
During the services in church we have space for families to sit together, and we have colouring and activities available throughout. There is also an area at the back of church which has toys available for any young members of our community.
Stay & Play
Stay & Play is a place of safety and fun for children aged 0-5 as well as their carers. It runs on a Friday morning between 10am and 11.30am. We aim to support families to nurture children. We use a variety of activities and resources to support the children’s growth and development. We also enjoy story time and singing as well as using bubbles and the parachute! We aim to be open during the school summer holidays as we have found that many parents appreciate the continuation when most other groups close.
